Marshall County said the system would use the money for its Hydroponics program at DAR School on Grant Mountain.

School Child Nutrition Director Casey Partain said students work in the program to grow fresh produce such as lettuce and parsley. The produce is then used for lunches throughout the school system.

Another round of funds will go towards Douglas High School for its conversion lab. The lab is part of the school system’s effort to use technology in every area to enhance student learning.
