    Limestone County Coroner identifies man who drowned in Decatur

    DECATUR, Ala. ( WHNT ) — The Limestone County Coroner has identified the man who drowned at the Hard Dock Marina Sunday.

    Limestone County Coroner Mike West identified the victim as 24-year-old Emmanuel Merriweather from Decatur.

    Victim identified in deadly single-vehicle I-565 wreck

    On September 1, around 6:25 a.m., the Decatur Police Department said officers responded to the Hard Dock Marina for a missing person. The department said a group reported that their friend had jumped off a boat but didn’t come back up.

    The Decatur Police Department said Merriweather was found in the water around 7 a.m.

    Limestone County Coroner Mike West said once he was pulled from the water, he was pronounced dead around 7:41 a.m.
