Chunn identified the man as 34-year-old Kody Martin, of Cullman.

Chunn said Martin was in a car accident in the area on May 30. He said Martin was found about 75 yards into the woods and it is believed he wandered from the wreck into the woods and later died.

MCSO said state troopers responded to the scene at the time of the accident and located a vehicle, but did not find anyone. At the same time, the sheriff’s office said Martin’s family reported him missing.

Sheriff’s office Spokesperson Mike Swafford said no foul play is suspected. The sheriff’s office said upon learning of the wreck, Martin’s sister searched the area on Tuesday and located the body.
