Court documents show that the man, who Hughes was in a dating relationship with, was found with multiple stab wounds. He says he arrived at Hughes’s apartment, preparing to paint a room when she randomly stabbed him.

The man said Hughes also hit him with a metal baseball bat. According to court documents, the man is in stable condition and is expected to survive.

On Aug. 31, officers responded to a call about an assault on Line Street and Market Street. The report said that a woman had attacked an elderly woman with a hammer before leaving the scene in a vehicle. Witnesses were able to follow her until officers arrived.

The injured woman was identified as Mimi Marquette. She was taken to Huntsville Hospital for treatment. While on scene, officers were able to identify the suspect again as Hughes.

She was arrested and charged with first-degree assault. She was again taken to the Morgan County Jail and her bond was set to $50,000.

Officers received a call on Thursday, Sept. 5, that Marquette had died from her injuries. Hughes’s bond was raised to $100,000 and her charge was changed to murder. The investigation into Jefferson’s death also revealed that Hughes was a suspect in his murder as well.

Hughes is set to appear in court for an Aninah’s Law hearing on September 12 at 9:30 A.M.

whom ever is bonding her should be held too. they know she needs help. she stabbed someone. then she beat and killed someone you let her out then she beats a elderly woman to death on her wall with a hammer of y'all let her bond out again I think the city needs to be held responsible because of they are a danger to the public you can be held no bond. I didn't have a bond I was sat down for having one blunt of weed but she's murdered 2 and injured 1
