One taken to hospital after shooting in Lacey’s Spring, investigation underway

LACEY’S SPRING, Ala ( WHNT ) — The Morgan County Sheriff’s Office (MCSO) says one person was taken to the hospital after a shooting in Lacey’s Spring on Wednesday.

The sheriff’s office said deputies and EMS responded to a reported shooting in the area of Highland Avenue, near Highland Baptist Church, in Lacey’s Spring around 9:18 p.m.

According to MCSO, the incident involved four men and a woman who came to the church parking lot in a vehicle. Deputies said that the males got into a fight with someone who was shooting at the vehicle.

MCSO said one person was taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries and has since been released.

MCSO said that investigators are still identifying everyone involved and that warrants would be obtained.
