    Man arrested on multiple drug charges in Lawrence County

    LAWRENCE COUNTY, Ala. ( WHNT ) — A man is facing multiple drug charges after a search warrant was executed at his home on Wednesday, September 11.

    According to the Lawrence County Sheriff’s Office (LCSO), agents with the Lawrence County VICE/Narcotics Unit executed a search warrant at a home in the Five-Points community.

    LCSO said that during the search agents found one pound of Methamphetamines, Cocaine, Marijuana, Xanax, Hydrocodone, Oxycodone, drug related paraphernalia (use/sale) and drug manufacturing components, along with explosive components.

    According to LCSO, Cathel Monroe Westmoreland was arrested and taken to the Lawrence County Jail.

    He is being charged with the following:

    • Trafficking Methamphetamines
    • Possessions of a Controlled Substance
    • Possession of Drug Paraphernalia
    • Certain Persons Prohibitted
    • Possession of Marijuana I
    • Manufacturing Methamphetamine

    Westmoreland was issued a $37,000 bond. LCSO said that additional charges may come at a later date.
