    Fort Payne man accused of taking items from home, charged with burglary

    FORT PAYNE, Ala. ( WHNT ) — Police say a man accused of taking items from a home in Fort Payne was arrested on Thursday.

    According to the Fort Payne Police Department, dispatch received a call from a person saying a man was inside a home in the 700 block of Godfrey Avenue N.

    Upon arrival, the suspect left the home before officers got there.

    After the victim was able to provide a description of the suspect, officers put out a BOLO in the area and found a man matching the description of the suspect in the 800 block of Sanders Avenue NE.

    Officers identified the suspect as Jerimah Daniel Sharrow, 27, of Fort Payne.

    Fort Payne Police said that Sharrow still had the items he took from the home. Sharrow was arrested and charged with burglary-3rd degree and public intoxication.

    He is being held in the Fort Payne Police Department jail waiting to be transferred to the DeKalb County Detention Center.

    Police said that the incident remains under investigation and more charges could be coming.

    I hope they prosecute him to the fullest extent of the law and he goes to prison. This kind of behavior shouldn’t be tolerated anywhere.
