LIMESTONE COUNTY, Ala ( WHNT ) — The Limestone County Sheriff’s Office (LCSO) said three more students in the county school system have been arrested for threats.

LCSO said one student at West Limestone High School made verbal threats to other students, claiming to have a gun and saying they would shoot them.

According to authorities, another student at Ardmore High School wrote out a threat on paper suggesting that there was going to be a shooting at the school.

Lastly, the sheriff’s office said a student at Clements High School made a threat on Snapchat indicating that he had a gun at school and was going to shoot another student.

LCSO said those responsible for the threats were identified and arrested. No weapons were found in either incident and at no time Tuesday was there any immediate danger to students, the sheriff’s office said.

“We are grateful for the bravery and courage of those who have come forward to report threats of harm towards others,” Sheriff Joshua McLaughlin said about the incident. “Thank you for being a role model and helping keep those around you safe.”

These three arrests brought the total number of students arrested in Limestone County since the beginning of last week to eight. 14 total students were arrested for making threats in North Alabama.
