    Months-long investigation leads to three arrests on drug charges in Decatur

    DECATUR, Ala. ( WHNT ) — Three people were arrested after a search warrant was carried out at an apartment complex in Decatur on Wednesday.

    Decatur Police told News 19 that over the past few months the department’s Vice/Narcotics Unit has been conducting an investigation in reference to the distribution of narcotics within the city limits of Decatur.

    Decatur Police said that investigators executed a search warrant at an apartment located at 1602 Brookridge Drive SW.

    During the search, investigators found a large quantity of marijuana, opiate pills, cocaine/fentanyl mixture, prescription drugs, paraphernalia, and a firearm.

    Investigators arrested three people who have been booked in the Morgan County Jail on the following charges:

    Quanan Hutchinson was charged with trafficking in illegal Drugs, distribution of a controlled substance, unlawful possession of marijuana first degree, three counts of unlawful possession of a controlled substance, illegal possession of a prescription drug, and unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia. He is being held on a $135,000 cash bond.

    Precious Bankston was charged with trafficking in illegal drugs, unlawful possession of marijuana first degree, three counts of unlawful possession of a controlled substance, illegal possession of a prescription drug, and unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia. She is being held on a $11, 100 bond.

    David Wiggins was charged with trafficking in illegal drugs, unlawful possession of marijuana first degree, three counts of unlawful possession of a controlled substance, illegal possession of a prescription drug, unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia, and reckless endangerment. He is being held on an $11,400 bond.
