DECATUR, Ala. (WHNT) – A man has been arrested following an investigation into a June shooting, according to the Decatur Police Department.

A spokesperson with the department said on June 15, officers responded to a gunshot victim at Parkway Medical Center. The victim had non-life-threatening injuries.

The spokesperson told officers the shooting took place at a home on the 1000 block of Hoover Avenue SW.

On June 21, the suspect in the shooting was identified as Quincey Jamar Wilkerson and a warrant was issued for his arrest the same day. Since then, DPD says officers had located Wilkerson multiple times by different agencies, but fled each time.

On September 21, Wilkerson was arrested at a home on 12th Avenue NW, and arrested without incident following a brief standoff.

He is being held in the Morgan County Jail on a $30,000 bond. DPD says additional charges are expected.
