DECATUR, Ala. (WHNT) — The Decatur Police Department (DPD) says four people, including two children, were taken to the hospital Monday after a “possible vehicle malfunction” at a Decatur Chipotle.

A department spokesperson said officers responded to an incident at the Chipotle on Beltline Road around 7:42 p.m.

DPD said when officers arrived, they found a Falkville Police patrol vehicle on the restaurant’s patio. The Falkville officer said he parked his vehicle and went inside when the vehicle began to roll backward.

DPD said two adults and two children were injured after a possible vehicle malfunction after a “Shift Sys Fault.”

The department said both adults and one child were taken to Decatur Morgan Hospital for treatment. The spokesperson said a second child was airlifted to the hospital for further treatment.
