Jack’s Game of the Week: Austin vs Florence

FLORENCE, Ala, (WHNT) — When I think Austin football in 2024, I can’t help but think about overtime.

The Black Bears are 4-0 so far with two of those wins coming in O-T.

If I was a betting woman, and I am, I can say that both Jeremy Perkins and Kenny Morson would like to see this one play out in 48 minutes.

In the 18 times, the Black Bears and the Falcons have met, the game has never ventured into overtime, so here’s hoping we get our Jack’s Game of the Week done in regulation.

Alright, who is moving to 3-0 in Class 7A Region 4.

First half, Black Bears offense is out on the field.

Q-B Jason Davis dances out of the pocket, throws, and Jaxon Potter brings it down,

Potter keeps working his magic to extend that Austin first down.

But the Falcons’ defense shuts down any chance at a touchdown, and that was the story of the first half, good defense from both squads so it’s 0-0.

Jump to the fourth quarter, Austin up 13-0, Davis spots David Fuqua and Fuqua will add to that lead with a late touchdown.

That put the scoreboard at 20-0 which is how our jacks game of the week would end.

Austin is now 5-0, their best start since 2019
