KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WATE) — The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation has set up a hotline to coordinate missing persons reports in areas affected by severe flooding in East Tennessee.

The TBI shared just after 1:40 p.m. Saturday that those who wish to report missing individuals believed to be in areas across East Tennessee that have been affected by severe flooding can contact 1-800 TBI-FIND.

Silver Alert issued for man missing from Knox County

When calling, the TBI said to be prepared with as much identifying information as possible, including names, phone numbers, vehicle identification, and last known whereabouts. The TBI said once information is gathered, it will immediately be available to law enforcement in the response area to further follow-up.

The TBI also asked people to refrain from calling the hotline to inquire about the status of personal properties.
