HUNTSVILLE, Ala. ( WHNT ) – Dean Dillon is making a generous donation to support music curriculum in local schools.

The donation was announced by Dillon and school officials at a news conference on Tuesday that the artist would be donating 100 guitars to three local school districts. Dillon partnered with Concerts 4 a Cause, Astera and Omaha Steaks to make the donations.

The announcement came ahead of the ‘Songs and Stories of Dean Dillon’ tribute show, which will take place on Wednesday and showcase many of country music’s biggest stars to honor the legendary singer/songwriter.

Dillon said he felt it was fitting to give back to the community that he says helped shape his career. The guitars will be a valuable resource to school programs that otherwise wouldn’t have access to them.
