MUSCLE SHOALS, Ala. (WHNT) — Scott Basden has led the Trojans program for seventeen years, putting together several successful seasons.

2024 is looking to follow that same suit Muscle Shoals took down Athens in week five to take the top spot in class 6a Region 7 and clinched a playoff spot.

And Muscle Shoals is the Tyler Mann Team of the Week from week six.

“Well you know I thought offensively we played really well. You know defensively we you know made some mistakes. So you know just trying to clean those things up and get better. I think you know our offensive line continues to improve. So you know the main thing is staying healthy,” said Muscle Shoals football head coach Scott Basden.

“That was a big win because you know they was undefeated but we managed that,” said Trojans senior running back Jaquess Greene.

“The way we do things, it’s almost like Groundhog Day. We’re going to do the same thing every day,” Coach Basden said. “And, you know, they understand, and they don’t want to be a group that, you know, lets that tradition go down. So, real proud of their effort. They’ve been able to respond this year. Well, you know, we got a big win coming up this Friday. And you know we got to go on the road to Jasper. And so you know our goal right now is get five and zero and then worry about something else down the road.”
