News 19 team returns to Lester Haunted Hospital, and yes, it is equally as scarring this time around

LESTER, Ala. (WHNT) — This was supposed to be the redemption tour, proving that, as adults, we can behave in a semi-professional manner, and that we are capable of handling the inevitable cacophony of jump-scares. All of this, in the name of informing the Tennessee Valley of some of their haunt options this season. To put it simply, the visit did not go as planned.

The Lester Haunted Hospital is filled to the brim with volunteer actors ready to take aim at visitors who cross their paths.

Lester Haunted Hospital hand delivers nightmares for a good cause

This year, News 19’s Giselle Hood served as the special guest. During the recruitment process, Giselle said she enjoyed Haunted Houses and was ready to see what North Alabama had in store for her. While she does not — and did not — scare easily, she did eventually crack.

All jokes aside, The Lester Haunted Hospital preys on thrill seekers for a good cause. It is part of the Scare 4 Charity organization. Aside from operating costs, the proceeds from the haunt go towards supporting area organizations and activities in the school system.

If you’re interested in grabbing a bite to eat while you wait to enter the hospital, bring cash!

Lester Haunted Hospital is located at 30338 Lester Road. It is open to visitors Friday and Saturday nights — plus, Halloween on Thursday, October 31.
