    Ider Police: Two arrested for hiding meth in pizza during traffic stop

    IDER, Ala. (WHNT) — The Ider Police Department arrested two people after the department said they hid meth in a pizza during a traffic stop Wednesday.

    According to Ider Police Chief Stephen Malone, he pulled over a vehicle for multiple traffic violations.

    During the stop, Malone found out the woman driver had multiple felony warrants, one being for chemical endangerment of a child. Malone said he found the man inside the vehicle with Xanax. There were also three children in the car with the couple.

    During a search of the vehicle, two recently purchased pizza boxes were opened and officers observed what appeared to be methamphetamine stuffed inside one of the slices, according to IPD.

    Both the man and woman were arrested and DHR was contacted for the children.

    The man and woman face the following charges:

    • Three charges of possession of a controlled substance, (Methamphetamine/Alprazolam)
    • Two charges of Chemical Endangerment of a Child,(Food laced with Methamphetamine)
    • Two charges of possession of drug paraphernalia

    IPD said at this time, they will not be releasing the names of the parents out of safety for the children.
