Multiple units on scene of fire at Fern Parc Apartment Homes

HUNTSVILLE, Ala. ( WHNT ) — Multiple units are responding to an apartment fire in Huntsville Monday morning.

According to emergency alerts from the City of Huntsville, multiple units are on the scene of an apartment fire at Fern Parc Apartments at 4144 Memorial Parkway SW.

Huntsville Fire & Rescue said eight trucks were on the scene and the Red Cross was assisting those who have been displaced from the fire.

HFR said one person is suffering from smoke inhalation and that there is no word on additional injuries.

News 19 crews on the scene spoke with a resident at the apartment complex who said the fire started around 7:30 a.m.

HFR said the cause of the fire is still under investigation.
