    Coroner: Body found at Joe Wheeler State Park

    LAUDERDALE COUNTY, Ala. (WHNT) — The Lauderdale County Coroner says a man was found dead in Joe Wheeler State Park Monday afternoon.

    Coroner Kim Jones told News 19 that a 23-year-old man was found dead at the state park late Monday afternoon.

    She said she responded to the scene around 7 p.m. Monday but the body had been found earlier.

    Jones said the cause of death is currently unknown and the man has been sent to the Alabama Department of Forensics in Huntsville for an autopsy.
