HUNTSVILLE, Ala. ( WHNT ) — Best Life Recovery, a home that helps women with addiction issues get their life back in order, held its second annual fundraiser Sunday.

Proceeds from the event went towards renovations for Best Life Recovery’s new home. Stephanie Jennings, the program’s director , said the upgrades will help take care of the new safety features for the new home.

State leaders cut the ribbon on Albertville Innovation Academy

“We got a new house, our board president donated us the money so we can have a safe forever home. We needed some money for our renovations and so that’s what this fundraiser is about,” said Jennings. “Specifically to make sure we can afford to take care of all the safety features that are needed to move into the new home.”

The most powerful part of the event featured speakers who graduated from the program, Lucy Lawler is one of those woman.

“I wouldn’t be who I am and where I am without Best Life. Without, the safe environment, the supportive environment that Stephanie has put together for us there,” said Lawler. “Just see where, in the two years that I’ve been here how much we’ve grown, how many women we touched not only that are a part of our actual program but also just in the outside recovery community of Huntsville. Her reach is broad and it’s deep and it’s very genuine.”

Best Life Recovery hopes to move into their new home next month. For more information or to see how you can support these women, click here .
