DMPD investigating motorcycle crash that injured two

DES MOINES, Iowa — Wednesday night the Des Moines Police Department responded to a motorcycle crash that has injured two.

At around 8:30 p.m. DMPD responded to reports of a motorcycle crash at Thomas Beck Road near SW 9th Street.

According to DMPD, the motorcyclist lost control of the bike and crossed into oncoming traffic, where they crashed into an oncoming van.

Both the van driver and the motorcyclist were transported to the hospital. Sgt. Paul Parizek of the DMPD said the van driver suffered minor injuries. The motorcyclist was seriously injured but is expected to survive.
