Parents pick up last minute school supplies before first full week of school

DES MOINES, Iowa — Schools across Iowa are starting Friday with the rest starting this coming Monday, and many parents still need to pick up school supplies.

Homer Robinson, a parent of a child attending Monroe Elementary School in Des Moines, said that he still needs to get new shoes for his son before school starts.

“Shoes…he be worried about shoes and stuff we got a couple but we always want to get him a couple more they always want clothes but I’m getting there,” Robinson said.

Other parents at Monroe Elementary still need to get all of their school supplies this weekend before school starts for Des Moines Public Schools on Monday.
