    Des Moines Police looking for motorcyclist who hit and injured a child

    DES MOINES, Iowa – Police are investigating a hit-and-run accident involving a motorcycle that caused serious injuries to a child Monday afternoon.

    Sgt. Paul Parizek the Public Information Officer of the Des Moines Police Department said the incident happened around 3:35 p.m. at 2 nd Ave. and Ovid Ave. A 10-year-old girl was struck by a motorcycle. She was transported to the hospital with serious injuries to her legs.

    The motorcycle fled the scene. Police have not released a description of the motorcycle or the possible suspect.

    The Traffic Unit is continuing to investigate the case.
