    Hoover High School says cell phone ban has been ‘fantastic’ so far

    DES MOINES, Iowa — Hoover High School implemented a cell phone ban for the 2024-25 school year as part of their Hoover Mental Health Movement. The ban requires students to keep their phones in their backpacks for most of the school day.

    WHO 13’s Andy Fales spoke with Hoover High School Principal Qynne Kelly about the ban, and she said while it’s only been a couple of days the ban has been fantastic so far.
