    Tai Village celebrates SE Asian culture in 15th annual festival

    DES MOINES, Iowa — Tai Village celebrated Southeast Asian culture in 15th annual festival over Labor Day Weekend.

    The event is a celebration of Southeast Asian culture with the goal of sharing the culture with others. Over the weekend people enjoyed different live musicians, a variety of Asian cultural dances, and several food vendors. There was also face painting, balloon art, sporting events, and children’s games.

    There were around 12 different food vendors all providing a variety of drinks and foods from SE Asian cultures. Some of the offerings included banh mi, sticky rice, bubble tea, and authentic southeast noodles and soups.

    Tai Village is a non-profit organization that was established in 2003, it preserves Southeast Asian heritage and tells the unique story of those who immigrated to Iowa starting in 1975.
