    Police ask for help identifying armed robber in Carlisle

    CARLISLE, Iowa – The Carlisle Police Department is asking for help to identify a suspect in the First Interstate Bank robbery.

    Friday around 12:29 p.m. a man walked into First Interstate Bank and handed a note demanding money to the teller. The note stated the man had a gun, then displayed what appeared to be a handgun in his waistband.

    The suspect left the bank with an undetermined amount of money and headed in an unknown direction of travel.

    Police would like your help identifying this man.

    The man is described as a white male, last seen, wearing a blue button-down dress shirt, jeans, eyeglasses, and a medical surgical mask.

    As a safety measure the Carlisle Community School District was placed on lockdown for approximately 30-45 minutes and community members and businesses were notified through the city notification system.
