    Iowa man killed in Clay County motorcycle crash

    SPENCER, Iowa (KCAU) — An Iowa man was killed in a crash about five miles west of Spencer on Wednesday morning.

    According to a crash report, a man was following a Chrysler Town and Country on his Harley-Davidson going east on 350th Street when he rear-ended the Town and Country around 8:45 a.m.

    The crash report says the man was thrown from the motorcycle and then hit by a Chevy Silverado that was heading west on 350th Street.

    The motorcyclist, identified as Douglas Nielsen, 54, was declared dead at the scene and transported to a local funeral home.

    The other two vehicles were towed from the scene.

    The incident is being investigated by the Iowa State Patrol which was assisted by the Clay County Sheriff’s Office, Fostoria Fire Department, Spencer Fire and Ambulance Departments, and Bud’s Towing.
