    Fired Urbandale teacher facing potential ethics violations

    DES MOINES, Iowa — The state Board of Educational Examiners has found probable cause that a former Urbandale teacher violated professional standards and ethics laws.

    Amanda Delzell was placed on administrative leave and ultimately fired after reporting the abuse of a disabled student last year. Delzell’s case will go before the Assistant Attorney General.

    Her former bosses; Human Resources Director Loren DeKryff, Director of Special Education Shawna Shanahan, and Principal Anna Taggert, along with Special Education teacher Alice Pewick face similar hearings .
