WEBSTER COUNTY, Iowa — A Webster County man was shot during a domestic altercation on Thursday morning.

Meyer reportedly told the sheriff’s office that during the altercation a firearm was drawn and then fired, and he was hit by a bullet. The sheriff’s office said Meyer left the scene and drove to a relative’s home before eventually being taken to a Mason City hospital to be treated for his injuries.

The sheriff’s office said Guthrie is cooperating with detectives as they work to determine what led to the dispute and subsequent shooting. At this time no charges have been filed.

An investigation into the incident is ongoing.
