Iowa gets $60M in disaster assistance loans from Small Business Administration

IOWA (KCAU) — The U.S. Small Business Administration has approved more than $60 million in disaster assistance loans for Iowa businesses and residents affected by severe weather earlier this summer.

Almost $50 million is for residents, while just over $10 million goes to businesses. The SBA says the money is to help rebuild and recover from severe storms, flooding, straight-line winds, and tornadoes that happened between June 16th and July 23rd.

Sixteen Iowa counties qualified for the funds: Buena Vista, Cherokee, Clay, Dickinson, Emmet, Humboldt, Lyon, Monona, O’Brien, Osceola, Palo Alto, Plymouth, Pottawattamie, Scott, Sioux and Woodbury.
