Forecast: Frost on the way as rain chances diminish

I had a chance to measure yardage and observe the wind gusts and chill in Adel this morning as my son Hudson’s team had their last game of the season. We were blessed with mild weather for spectators this fall.

It’s obviously been a cooler Sunday, with the warmth of Friday and Saturday being pushed out by dry and colder air from the northwest.

The colder air rolled in on breezy conditions, with some gusts exceeding 50mph in spots today.

Our weather timeline takes us into the cooler day Monday. However, winds will be very light so that, on balance, it may actually feel nicer outside. The bus stop forecast indicates it’d be best to bundle up the kids who are willing to do so. The stubborn ones may be hesitant to ditch the shorts yet.

A frost advisory is in effect for parts of western and northern Iowa Monday. We’ll likely see these advisories slide to the east on Tuesday and Wednesday.

It sure looked Saturday as if we had a decent rain chance in play for this upcoming Saturday. That no longer appears to be the case. We’ll, of course, keep monitoring and hope that rain chances return sooner rather than later.

I feel like I’ve typed this in every blog post for the past two months, but yet again the extended outlooks below look to continue our warm and dry pattern through the end of the month.
