Okay, Fine—I've Totally Been Gatekeeping These Niche, Automatically Cool Fragrances

Fact: You don't have to be a fashion editor, stylist, or designer to know that Loewe's minimalistic aesthetic and artisanal craftsmanship are unparalleled. Founded in 1846 by Enrique Loewe Roessberg, the Spanish heritage brand has always been at the forefront of innovation; setting the standards for what luxury-loving consumers can expect from leather goods and ready-to-wear clothes. With over 178 of history under their belt, its no surprise that the brand successfully ventured into the beauty realm in 1972 with the launch of their first (now discontinued) perfume, L de Loewe.
In 2022, the brand's beauty legacy continued when Loewe's Creative Director, Jonathan Anderson , collaborated with in-house perfumer, Emilio Valeros on the release of a perfumes range designed to compliment each other: 001 Woman and 001 Man. While I will always love those two, I wouldn't be doing due diligence as a fragrance-obsessed beauty editor if I didn't also spill my other favorite perfumes across the brand's many fragrance families from the solar scents of Un Paseo Por Madrid to the lightweight Aire eau de toilette collection.
Inspired by new beginnings, 001 woman is a fresh-yet-warm fragrance that combines notes of jasmine, linen, and musk to embrace its wearer like their favorite cashmere sweater would. I love how its both inviting and familiar; a perfect scent to wear while making new connections. In other words, its the one for when you're in the mood to make an amazing first impression.
2. Loewe Aura Pink Magnolia Eau de Parfum
Loewe Aura Pink Magnolia Eau de Parfum
Fragrance Family: woody floral
Key Notes: magnolia flower, red fruits, sandalwood, musk
If you ask me, magnolia is an underrated fragrance notes that deserves to be in all the best floral perfume blends. This one combines powdery, fresh magnolia flowers with the tanginess of red fruits and warmth of sandalwood and musk for a ultra-feminine fragrance that exudes confidence. I only wish Loewe's Aura White Magnolia scent was just as widely distributed.
3. Loewe Un Paseo por Madrid San Miguel Eau de Parfum
Loewe Un Paseo por Madrid San Miguel Eau de Parfum
Fragrance Family: floral woods
Key Notes: bergamot, violet, geranium, rose extract, essence of Davana, patchouli, vetiver, amber
As both an fashion and beauty insider, I like to pay special attention to the fragrances all the stylish people on my Instagram feeds have displayed on their vanity tables and bathroom shelves. Loewe's Un Paseo Por Madrid line has made several appearances, but the San Miguel fragrance is one of the stand outs thanks to a vibrant combination of fresh flowers, patchouli, and amber.
As part of Loewe's unisex fragrance collection inspired by the vibrant lifestyle of Madrid, this powder perfume captures the beauty only experiencing a passionate, theatrical performance could offer. It has a woody base note layered with a smooth blend of vanilla, jasmine petals, and rose. I've always been a avid supporter of the arts, and this is the perfect scent to wear when I'm off to the opera.
Any fragrance that makes me feel like my life is together is one that I'll always want to wear, and Lowe's Aire Anthesis is one of my go-to's. Not only does it smells fresh and clean thanks to a refreshing blend of pear, rhubarb, and rose, but there's also a cozy base of cedarwood and sandalwood that rounds out the scent. It's also incredibly versatile and perfect for layering with your other fragrance picks.
Historically, I've been partial to fresh, floral fragrances; but in the past couple of months I've been loving scents that strike the delicate balance between being earthy and fresh. Loewe's Aire Sutileza combines bright florals with the warmth of musk, sandalwood, and Haitian vetiver; making this perfume the perfect choice.
There's few fragrance profiles I love more than those boasting herb notes with a touch of leather. Esencia Elixir is one of my top recommended fragrances that does "woodsy" well with the addition of patchouli, vetiver, and amber. It's also my favorite of Loewe's Esencia family; fragrances inspired by DNA with a higher concentration of essential oils.
8. Loewe Earth Elixir Eau de Parfum
Loewe Earth Elixir Eau de Parfum
Fragrance Family: floral musks
Key Notes: violet, pear, oud, mimosa, truffle, gray amber, elemi
Loewe's Earth Elixir pairs ripe pair with the floral and amber notes underlined by the brand's Loewe accord—a new note crafted around the complex scent of Spanish Rockrose wildflower. The scent also belongs to the Earth collection that features perfumes inspired by the more dynamic elements found in nature.
9. Loewe Solo Ella Eau de Parfum
Loewe Solo Ella Eau de Parfum
Fragrance Family: fruity floral
Key Notes: green apple, neroli, white woods, green tea
To kick of 2023, I dedicated an entire story to the best green tea fragrances on the market before being introduced to the Solo Ella Eau de Parfum. Now that I have it in my collection, I'm never going back! I love how it opens with tangy green apple and sweet neroli before shifting into soft white woods and green tea during the dry down. The end result? A fragrance that is bright, uplifting, and energizing.
I'm a strong believer in venturing out of my comfort zone every now and then to discover new scent profiles to fuel my perfume obsession, and I'm glad I stumbled upon Loewe's Solo Vulcan. The unexpected combination of sage, pink pepper, and orange flower stands out to me because its set against a background of vetiver and mastic tree absolute (which produces a leathery sent).
For nights out, I'm always partial to elevated sparkling scents like this eau de toilette. Agua Mar de Coral leads with fresh, aquatic notes that recall imaged of sun-soaked beaches and deep blue waves before transitioning into an energizing citrus blend. I don't pick up the cedar and amber notes as much in this scent, it's still warm and inviting thanks to a touch of amber.
12. Loewe Agua Ella Eau de Toilette
Loewe Agua Ella Eau de Toilette
Fragrance Family: floral fruits
Key Notes: kumquat, Italian Lemon, Italian bergamot, passion fruit, bourbon pepper, rose petals, water lily, sandalwood, atlas cedar, musk
The brand's light and airy Agua family of fragrances draws inspiration from the image of sparkling of light on flowing water. Another one of my favorites from the scent collection, Agua Ella, combines classic notes of lemon, rose, and waterlily encapsulated in a stunning powdery pink bottle. I always wear this one with 001 Woman Eau de Parfum for a powdery fresh finish.

While I'm not always drawn to fruity scents, I love Loewe's honeyed, earthy-yet-clean Orange Blossom Room Spray since its peppered with notes of beeswax, soap, and soil that reveal themselves over time.

This wouldn't be a Loewe Beauty edit without at least one mention of their best selling tomato-inspired fragrance. Tomato Leaves was one of the first scents I was introduced to three years ago, and I'm still hooked.
Loewe Tomato Leaves Candle
Once again, we have a candle version of a Loewe scent that's equally addictive. It also comes in the form of solid soap, body lotion, reed diffusers and tape candle (with a bright red matching holder).
