Certain people just get it . That's Rachel Besser in my friend group. The Vogue contributor and content creator has a covetable sense of style that's cool, modern, and forward. Naturally, when she says something is legit, I listen. Besser recently launched an insightful Substack publication called Besser for You ( subscribe immediately if you haven't), where she dives into what matters in fashion. She recently posted about a life-changing Amazon shirt, and I just had to share it here.

As Besser shared in her Substack , she impulse-bought this $20 Amazon Essentials men's shirt in black to wear to an event, as the designer one she was going to wear was in her dry-cleaning pile. It's to note that the shirt is normally $24, but it's on sale for Amazon Prime Big Deal Days 2024 on October 8 and October 9 for $20. Initially styled with an oversize suit, the shirt worked—like, really worked. She legit got compliments on the piece from celebrities and stylists at the event. "It fit like my best shirts—no tailoring, no tinkering required. Sure, the fabric's a bit thin, but at a glance, it's indistinguishable from the designer ones in my closet," Besser explained in her Substack post. Since the initial order, she's purchased other colors to style with a range of outfits for different occasions. She's worn it half-buttoned under a suit (pictured above), as a beach cover-up, paired with denim for the weekend, and so on. It's worth noting that she primarily wears the shirt in an XL for the oversize look, but she also bought the size small to perfectly tuck into giant jeans with a belt.

Besser's definition of an essential, like this Amazon shirt, is also worth mentioning. "An essential should feel like a natural extension of your routine—reliable, comfortable, and ready for anything—be it an impromptu event or unexpected globule of mustard. While some people cling to their pristine collars, terrified of life's little messes, I'm out here embracing them. This shirt doesn't ask for perfection; it just lets me live ," she explained on Besser for You .

Keep scrolling to check out the shirt in more detail and shop it if you're so inclined. I also rounded up other cool Amazon shirts to consider for the season.
