Mexican cuisine is one of the most popular cuisines around the country, offering dishes bursting with explosive flavor and comforting spice, so naturally there are plenty of incredible restaurants focused on dishing out the cuisine to hungry diners everywhere you look.

LoveFood searched around the U.S. to find the "best places to get your fix of Mexican and Mexican-inspired food," compiling a list of the top spot in each state based on user reviews, awards and accolades as well as first-hand experience.

According to the site, the "best Mexican restaurant" in all of North Carolina is Limones, an Asheville eatery serving modern California and Mexican-style dishes that are a must-try for any foodie. Limones , located at 15 Eagle Street, has a Google rating of 4.6 stars and more than 1,200 reviews.

Here's what LoveFood had to say about the best Mexican restaurant in the entire state:

"Chic yet unpretentious, downtown Asheville's Limones combines Mexican chef Hugo Ramirez 's love of Californian cuisine with flavors and inspiration from his native country (plus some tips from his mother). The restaurant has a charming vibe and decor, and serves up delicious dishes like a ceviche sampler, lobster nachos, and enchiladas with short-rib beef."
