IMPD: One Woman Killed, One Hurt in Indianapolis Crash

INDIANAPOLIS – Indy Metro Police are investigating after one woman was killed, and another seriously hurt, in a crash Friday afternoon.

Officers say the crash happened at the intersection of East 62 ^nd Street and North Meridian Street.

At this time, they believe one woman was heading south on Meridian in a sedan as another woman tried to cross the intersection on East 62 ^nd Street in a van.

The driver of the sedan – who has not yet been publicly identified – was taken to the hospital in critical condition. Unfortunately, she did not survive.

The other driver was taken to the hospital in critical condition.  An update on her health has not yet been provided.

IMPD does not currently believe that drugs or alcohol were involved in the crash.
