JOHNSON COUNTY, IND — A major drug case spanning multiple counties has led to over 30 arrests, but many people are still on the run.

Police in Johnson and Franklin counties started a drug sweep this week, targeting individuals charged with selling cocaine, meth, and fentanyl.

“When you have drugs, you have other crimes that take place,” says Johnson County Sheriff Duane Burgess. “When you start locking these individuals up, you’re taking away the dealers. You’re trying to shut the big ring or operation down.”

Police plan to use technology and other methods to track the remaining suspects.

“There’s different things we can utilize,” says Burgess. “We’re out knocking on doors and searching for those folks. We have other associates they’ve been in contact with and sometimes those folks will give them up or let us know where they’re at.”

Police are searching for people who sold meth, cocaine, and fentanyl.
