    Actor James Earl Jones Dead at 93

    NEW YORK–Actor James Earl Jones has died at the age of 93.

    Jones is among a group of select entertainers to win an Emmy, Grammy, Oscar and Tony.

    He was most well known for being the voice of Star Wars villain Darth Vader. Jones also starred in films such as Field of Dreams, The Sandlot and The Hunt for Red October.

    Jones died at his home in New York.

    He was described as “one of America’s most distinguished and versatile” actors for his performances on stage and screen and “one of the greatest actors in American history”.

    He was inducted into the American Theater Hall of Fame in 1985. He was honored with the National Medal of Arts in 1992, the Kennedy Center Honor in 2002, the Screen Actors Guild Life Achievement Award in 2009 and the Honorary Academy Award in 2011.
