INDIANAPOLIS — A car ran into a retention pond on Indianapolis’ northwest side Saturday afternoon around 4:00.

Fire departments, including Pike Township Fire Department and units from Speedway, Wayne Township, and Indianapolis Fire Departments, arrived at the scene, which was on Pendragon Boulevard.

Pike Township firefighters initially entered the water but couldn’t search below the surface because they didn’t have diving gear.

Divers from the Indianapolis Fire Department later arrived at the scene, and they said that no one was in the car or the pond. A tow truck later helped pull the car out of the pond.

Authorities are still investigating the scene.
