In 1964, Edmund Kemper committed his first set of murders, taking the lives of his paternal grandparents. He was only 15 years old.

Following the murders of his grandparents, Kemper was diagnosed as a paranoid schizophrenic by court psychiatrists and sentenced to the Atascadero State Hospital in California as a criminally insane juvenile. He was released at the age of 21 after convincing psychiatrists that he was rehabilitated and ready to live as a functioning member of society. His juvenile records were permanently expunged.

Kemper would become known as ‘The Co-ed Killer’, for not long after his release, he started targeting young female college students who were hitchhiking.

Christine Falco, a film producer from Montréal who created and runs the Edmund Kemper Stories (EKS) blog, joins the Kendall and Casey Show for True Crime Tuesday to discuss the disturbing story of Edmund Kemper.
