In an effort to bring awareness and obtain public comments on the Texas Department of Transportation’s commitment to the ADA Accessibility Program and future projects, a virtual and in-person event will be held in July.

The meeting will be held in-person from 10 a.m. to noon Wednesday, July 24 at the TxDOT Wichita Falls District Office located at 1601 Southwest Parkway.

The meeting will be available virtually online on the TxDOT website and will be available until Thursday, Aug. 8.

The meeting is for the TxDOT Wichita Falls District which includes Archer, Baylor, Clay, Cooke, Montague, Throckmorton, Wichita, Wilbarger and Young counties.

“TxDOT’s commitment to the ADA Accessibility Program is to ensure that every program, service, benefit, activity, and facility open to the public is fully accessible and usable by people with disabilities in an integrated setting that fosters inclusion and does not discriminate,” the notice states. “TxDOT ensures this commitment through the agency’s Self-Evaluation and Transition Plan, which includes an action plan on the removal of barriers over time.”

Community members within the district can provide written comments on the proposed program by Thursday, Aug. 8 to TxDOT Wichita Falls District, Attn: ADA Liaison; 1601 Southwest Pkwy, Wichita Falls, TX 76302 or by email to Monty.Brown@txdot.gov, Attention: ADA Liaison.
