WICHITA COUNTY (KFDX/KJTL) — Multiple agencies responded to a grassfire that spread to a nearby building on Tuesday morning.

Just before 11 a.m. on Tuesday, July 16, 2024, Wichita West Fire Department and Iowa Park Fire Department responded to a grassfire that spread to a building behind a house in the 600 block of Wellington.

According to officials, the flames started in the grass after a skid steer hit a rock, causing sparks that ignited the surrounding grass.

The flames have been contained, and no injuries were reported.
