WICHITA FALLS ( KFDX/KJTL ) — The big news in the forecast continues to be the break from the typical searing heat seen in Texoma during this time of year. Tonight’s low in Wichita Falls will be 71 degrees, while Sunday’s high will be 90 degrees. By Monday, Temperatures are expected to drop below average across the area. In the meantime, the possibility of severe weather is, once again, upon us. For the remainder of the weekend, chances for showers and thunderstorms exist in the area. A push from the central plains southward combined with a low-level jet in the atmosphere makes a mix for the potential wet weather. Severe storms are possible tonight (Saturday) for central and eastern counties in Texoma, while the remainder of the area may see a few stray showers and thunderstorms. Chances continue for rain into Sunday and beyond as we approach mid-week.

Both high and low temperatures are expected to remain relatively steady through the coming work week, hovering near average. Above-average temperatures are expected by the beginning of the following week.
