Lifesaving and tailgating: OBI to host blood drive at Sikes Senter

WICHITA FALLS ( KFDX/KJTL ) — Two lucky blood donors this week will win prizes for their donation thanks to Our Blood Institute.

OBI is hosting the ‘Lifesaving and Tailgating Community Drive of Wichita Falls,’ on Wednesday, July 24, at the Sikes Senter across from Hibbett Sports from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.

The first prize is a grilling package courtesy of Red Barn Butchers, which is sponsoring the event and donated a $250 gift card to their shop and a Blackstone grill.

The second prize is a baseball package with four tickets to an Arlington baseball game and a hotel stay.

While the winners will be lucky, the real winners will be those who receive the blood donated. Each donation has the potential to help three people.

Jessica Hobert, account consultant at OBI and a blood donation recipient’s relative, expressed her gratitude for donations.

“I can’t tell you how thankful we are for people who will go and give an hour of their time to literally save somebody’s life,” Hobert said.
