The TRN's series of high school football position rankings for the 2024 season started with quarterbacks .

It only seemed right to group the Greater Wichita Falls area's top linemen with the athletes they're charged with protecting.

But before we breakdown the area's top 10 offensive linemen, here are a few notes about these lists:

More: Wichita Falls district predictions, state rankings from Dave Campbell's Texas Football

Players are listed in alphabetical order. We are not ranking them one through 10.

Athletes are only eligible to appear on one position list. If you don’t see your favorite player’s name on this list, there’s a chance he will be mentioned later at another position.

These position rankings are leading up to the release of the third annual Red River 22 Preseason Super Team on Aug. 19. However, appearing on a certain position list does not limit a player to making the Super Team at that position.

Finally, before jumping into the offensive line list, a special thanks to Nolan Clark of 940 GameDay fame for creating the graphics to go with this list. He's absolutely worth the follow on Facebook or Twitter .

    TOP 10 OFFENSIVE LINEMEN

Keigan Ballard, Jr., Vernon – Vernon’s run-heavy slot-T scheme doesn’t work without a tough offensive line, and Ballard is an all-district performer from that unit.

Logan Brake, Sr., Legacy – Brake gives the first-year program both size and experience in the trenches. He was a starter at Rider last season.

Shooter Canada, Jr., Archer City – Archer City believes it can play more of a smashmouth style because of its returning offensive linemen. Canada may be the standout of that group.

Colton Carter, Jr., Memorial – Carter was a starter for Hirschi last season and quickly made a strong impression on the Memorial coaching staff.

Jimmy Hamill, Sr., Holliday – Holliday is often associated with tough, disciplined offensive linemen. Hamill returns with the experience to help continue that association.

Blaine Hill, Jr., City View – Hill is entering his third season as a starter for the Mustangs, and his coaches have high expectations for a player with good size and athleticism to go with experience.

Colter Johnson, Sr., Graham – Johnson was a Red River 22 selection last season and profiles as Graham’s top returning lineman capable of paving the way for a prolific offense.

Buddy Owen, Sr., Burkburnett – Owen enters his fourth season as a starter and is a two-time Red River 22 honoree. His experience as the Bulldogs’ center is invaluable.

Wade Treadway, Sr., Jacksboro – For all the talk about Jacksboro’s returning stars at receiver and running back, Treadway is overlooked. He was his district’s Lineman of the Year and a Red River 22 selection last year.

John Cross Utley, Sr., Knox City – Utley is a two-time all-state center for the Greyhounds, who unlike other members of this list, can catch the ball on any given play thanks to six-man football rules.
