WICHITA FALLS ( KFDX/KJTL ) — Putting the “fun” in “fundraiser,” a prehistoric party will take over downtown Wichita Falls this October as the Dino Dash 5k returns for its second year.

After a successful first year, registration for Big Brother Big Sister’s downtown run is now open, and organizers are looking forward to seeing even more participants dressing up like dinosaurs and raising more funds for the local children’s nonprofit.

According to BBBS officials, this event really helps bring in money for the organization .

“Last year, we did raise about $4,000. This year, we’re looking to double that,” BBBS Engagement Manager Alexis McDonald said. “We’re looking to raise about $8,000. All of those funds come back directly into us to support our various programs for the youth in our community.”

Dino Dash is set for October 12 at 9 a.m.

Whether you walk, run, or even trot like a T-Rex, the morning will be about bringing the community together while supporting life-changing outreach to Texoma kids, according to McDonald.
