Surface warming trend heats up Texoma

WICHITA FALLS ( KFDX/KJTL )—Temperatures in Texoma are back on the rise as the southerly flow remains relatively strong and will be contributing to low-level moisture increasing affecting not only temperatures, but heat index values as well.

A heat advisory is in effect for Monday from 1 p.m. until 9 p.m. as heat index value range in the area will be between 105 to 110 degrees. The high temperature for Wichita Falls on Monday will be 101 degrees, while the low will be 79.

Little change is expected as low pressure to our west that stretches down through the Oklahoma and Texas panhandles is expected to see little movement as a thermal ridge building from the west and a weak area of high pressure to the east combined continue to filter in much warmer conditions that will be starting to rise above the average high and low temperatures for Texoma.
