WICHITA, Kan. (KSNW) — The Marion County Sheriff’s Office and the Sedgwick County K-9 Cadaver team located a body in Marion County after a rancher found a pickup truck in a pond.

A news release from the Marion County Sheriff’s Office said on Monday, June 24, around 5 p.m., a deputy was dispatched to an area east of 240th Street and Kanza Road after a resident had reported a silver Dodge truck partially in a pond.

The deputy located the vehicle and found that it was registered to James Lightfoot, 38, of Wichita.

At 10:55 p.m. on Monday, June 24, a Kansas Highway Patrol aircraft conducted a search of the area but was unsuccessful in finding Lightfoot.
