WICHITA, Kan. (KSNW) — A judge has sentenced a Wichita man to more than 32 years behind bars in connection to the deaths of two people in 2022.

Chief Judge Jeffrey Goering sentenced 20-year-old Elijah Sullivan to 391 months in prison.

In May, Sullivan pleaded guilty to two counts of voluntary manslaughter, criminal discharge of a firearm, aggravated battery, and criminal possession of a weapon by a convicted felon.

The victims were 21-year-old Amill Williams and 20-year-old Alonzo Montgomery of Wichita. On Feb. 21, 2022, someone was shooting at their car . The victims began driving faster, crashing into a tree near Lincoln and George Washington. The two men died, and a woman in the car was seriously injured. An investigation showed the bullets did not hit any of the victims.

Four people were charged with two counts of first-degree murder in the deaths of Williams and Montgomery.
