    Celebrate Independence Day as if it was 1875 at Old Cowtown Museum

    WICHITA, Kan. (KSNW) — You can celebrate Independence Day as if it were 1875 at the Old Cowtown Museum, 1865 Museum Blvd.

    The Cowtown Celebrate America Independence Day event will take place from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday, July 6.

    “The museum grounds and buildings will be festooned with patriotic flags and buntings
    as the townspeople gather to celebrate the Fourth of July as if it was 1875,” says the City of Wichita.

    Guests can enjoy a plethora of events throughout the day.

    11:30 a.m. – Empire House Players Mini Melodrama
    12:00 p.m. – Temperance Rally
    12:30 p.m. – Serpentine Show
    1:00 p.m. – Gunfight
    1:00 p.m. – Cowtown Vintage Base Ball Club
    1:30 p.m. – Lecture: Kansas Fourth of July Celebrations (Visitor Center)
    2:00 p.m. – Empire House Players Mini Melodrama/ Entre Nous Victorian Dancing
    2:30 p.m. – Gunfight
    3:00 p.m. – Entre Nous Victorian Dancing
    4:00 p.m. – Entre Nous Victorian Dancing

    Medical professionals urge people to wear eye protection when shooting off fireworks

    The event is for all ages.

    General admission tickets, which will be sold at the door, are $15 for adults, $13 for seniors 62 and older and $8 for kids 5-17. Kids four and under and Old Cowtown members are free. Sunflower Summer passes are ineligible for special events.
