WICHITA, Kan. (KSNW) — Mass Street’s efforts in The Basketball Tournament fell short after an 84-81 loss to Team Colorado inside Charles Koch Arena on Wednesday.

The team, primarily built by KU alumni, fell down early in the game, trailing by 11 at one point, but a third-quarter barrage of threes allowed Mass Street to storm back to take a 10-point lead heading into the final frame.

Team Colorado, however, had a run of their own. They outscored Mass Street 23-13 in the fourth quarter, including overcoming a seven-point deficit when the Elam Ending started, to take home the win.

As a team, Mass Street shot 43.3% from the field and 39.3% from three, which included seven in the third quarter alone.

Frank Mason led all Mass Street scorers with 25 points, while four others — Dedric Lawson (16), San Cunliffe (12), LaGerald Vick (11) and Billy Preston (10) also scored in double figures.

The win dashes Mass Street’s hopes of winning the $1 million prize. In the quarterfinal, Team Colorado will face Forever Coogs, a team of Houston alumni.
